I wrote this not as a scientist in a tower but as a teacher among students, tracing how the decline of science literacy has shaped our politics, our classrooms, and our daily lives. Through stories of discovery and doubt, the book argues that evidence is not the enemy of belief but its most faithful companion.
We live in a time when misinformation spreads faster than understanding. Yet the cure is not cynicism but curiosity. To learn how the world works is to fall in love with it again. Science teaches us how water boils, why Earth circles the Sun, and how plants turn light into food. It cannot tell us how to love our neighbor. That wisdom must come from us.
This is a meditation on the meeting of knowledge and wonder, a defense of truth as a public trust, and a celebration of the endless human desire to ask, to learn, and to care.
